OK, so say you are the leader of your country.
Exciting, isn’t it?
But you’ve got to take the bad with the good, and in this case the bad is that you’ve just been invaded.
The country that invaded you is bigger than you, more men and more firepower. You will not be able to defeat them without outside assistance. Defending your country will cost many lives. You know this.
Peace will come immediately if you just surrender, lay down your arms and give the invader what they want.
So here is the question. Look at your country, the one you live in right now. Make the call: how much of that country would you be willing to hand over to another?
You want peace, right? You’re not a warmonger. You don’t want World War III. You just want people to stop dying. So all you have to decide is which bits of your country are going to be in the gift you give your invader, as a reward for their cleverness in attacking you.
Get your map out and carve it up. I’ll wait.
THIS! I'm sick and tired of the whole mealy-mouthed "warmonger" rubbish. No one wants war. But you have to be able to defend yourself and your country. The sad thing is it's basically the same thing as WWII. Putin should have been hit on the head when he invaded Georgia. But by waiting too long and dragging things out, anti-war people are actually helping the dictator to get stronger and are causing ultimately a bigger war :)
